Prospective PhD Students

Thank you for your interest in working with me. I am always open to supervising new PhD students whose research interests overlap with mine. However, admission to Yale's PhD program in Political Science follows the department's established procedures, which are described here. Given the number of inquiries I receive, I am unfortunately unable to respond to individual emails about potential supervision. I encourage interested students to apply through the regular admissions process, regardless of whether we have been in contact beforehand.

Prospective Senior Essay Yale Students

I am happy to consider supervising senior essays by Yale undergraduate students who have taken at least one of my courses at Yale (see my teaching page). Whether I can supervise a particular essay also depends on how closely the proposed topic aligns with my research interests and on my availability. While having taken one of my courses is a prerequisite, it does not necessarily mean that I will be able to supervise your essay.
